Alumni Potluck Gathering
Friday, November 7 7-10 pm
Washington, DC

Mark Michael and Maggie Prieto, both class of '84, have graciously offered to host our next potluck at their home in NW DC. The theme is "Mixology." A professional mixologist will be on the premises to help us all bring back our memories of the Farm.

As always, we're looking for half younger Stanford alums and half "seasoned" ones and, ideally, alums who have yet to attend one of these potlucks recently.

Mark Kogan and Tom Kohn are helping to arrange. Please email Tom at kohntom@gmail.com if you're interested in attending and let him know what year you graduated (and your degree) so we can make sure we have a good mix-ology.

DC Book Club Discussion
Sunday, November 9 5 pm
Silver Spring, Md

Newcomers are welcome. For information about the book group, email alisoncolew@hotmail.com.

Stanford at the Opera

Ivy Singles Holiday Party
Friday, December 5 6:30-9:30 pm
DACOR Bacon House, 1801 F Street NW, Washington, DC

The Washington DC Stanford Alumni Club invites you to the Ivy Singles Social Club Holiday Party! For
advanced registration, click here: https:// ycwd.memberclicks.net/index.php?option=com_mc&view=mc&mcid=form_179895.

The cost to attend is $42 (includes a $2 processing fee). Walk-ins are welcome at $45 (check made out to WDCSA or cash only please).

The venue is once again the elegant and historic DACOR-Bacon House (built 1824-25), home to several Supreme Court Justices and a Maryland governor. A U.S. Congressman from New York, Robert Low Bacon and his wife, Virginia Murray Bacon, lived in the house until 1980. Upon her death, Virginia bequeathed the building and furnishings as a memorial to her husband. The DACOR-Bacon House and Foundation now serve as a “place to facilitate international peace and understanding” as well as a conference and meeting place for the Organization of Foreign Affairs Professionals known as DACOR.

Each floor of the DACOR-Bacon House will be festively decorated for the holiday season. We will feast on hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and enjoy a selection of fine wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks from a cash bar. Consistent with our elegant surroundings, please come dressed in holiday, cocktail or business attire.

Metro: Take the Orange/Blue Line to Farragut West. Walk 3 blocks south on 18th St to F St.

Parking: Street parking is available after 6:30 pm. Please be aware that most nearby parking garages close earlier than midnight.
