Ivy Singles Embassy Reception
Friday, June 12 6:30-8:30 pm
Embassy of Slovenia, 2410 California Street, NW
Washington, DC

Join Ivy Singles and Bruce McBarnette of the Princeton Club for the Summer Embassy Art Reception at the Embassy of Slovenia. Enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvre, the work of local artists, a raffle, a presentation about Slovenia, and meet diplomats. You can also experience a relaxing energy practice from Japan. Thirty percent of all art sales will benefit Charlie's Place, a homeless service center in Washington, DC.

The Republic of Slovenia, formerly part of Yugoslavia, lies at the heart of Europe, where the Alps face the Pannonian plains and the Mediterranean meets the Karst area, which is famous for its caves and natural springs. Slovenia borders Austria to the north, Hungary to the east, Croatia to the south, and Italy to the west. The embassy is one of the more modern embassies in Washington, DC and was built in 2007 by Monarc Construction, the most famous embassy builder in the country.

Dress is coat and tie for men, business attire for women.

Admission is $35, if paid by June 11, and $50 at the door. Register online at http://cornellclubdc.org/event-1932188.

For questions contact Bruce McBarnette at bruce@mcbarnette.com or 800-777-7680.

2015 Citi Open
Saturday, August 1- Sunday, August 9
16th & Kennedy, NW, Washington, DC

The 2015 Citi Open is an ATP World Tour 500 tournament, making it one of the top 20 men's tournaments in the world. We have the same six platinum box seats to all sessions as in previous years (Aisle 36, Section 3). The seats are at the end of the court and very close to the court. We also have the same four upper level seats (Section 7, Row G) as last year. All of our seats provide access to the Emirates Garden Club restaurant. The featured matches are generally held in the main court where seating is reserved with the remainder in the outside courts where seating is open. Tickets also include the women's WTA International Level Event to be held at the same facility during this week.

The price to us of our box seats increased over 10%, and our upper level seats by 27%, so we have had to increase prices to break even. However, Andy Murray (#3 in world) and Ken Nishikori (#5 in world) have committed to play in the tournament.

Please email bill@billpegram.com or call 703-486-0952 indicating the number and type of tickets desired, the session, and parking passes desired. Bill will process requests in the order they are received and confirm availability by return email and provide instructions for payment. Stanford at the Opera
Fall 2015 - CARMEN

This sizzling production of Bizet's final opera shifts the classic story to a Latin American setting smoldering with sensuality and danger, using the original version of the score. The music pulses with erotic power - from Carmen's rousing “Habanera” aria and uninhibited dancing in a smokey tavern to the famous “Toreador Song” - all culminating in a spectacular finale at a bullfight.

This one is a winner and ... we'll be there with a before opera “meet-up.”

See our July newsletter for information on the cost and dates. For more information, contact bettybyrne@stanfordalumni.org or 202.483.4048.
