Ivy Singles Spring Garden Party
Friday, June 22 6:30-9 pm
1801 F Street, NW (at 18th Street)
The Ivy Singles Social Club is hosting its Spring Garden Party at the elegant and historic DACORBacon House (built 1824-25), home to several Supreme Court Justices, a Maryland governor and U.S. Congressman from New York, Robert Low Bacon and his wife, Virginia Murray Bacon. The DACOR-Bacon House and Foundation now serve as a "place to facilitate international peace and understanding" as well as a conference and meeting place for Diplomatic and Consular Officers, Retired (DACOR).
The garden will be a beautiful lush green setting for our June event. Mingle with fellow Ivy Alum as you feast on hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and enjoy a fine selection of wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks from a cash bar. Consistent with our early evening outdoor surroundings, please come dressed in your choice of garden party, cocktail, business or business casual attire.
Register online for $25, which includes a $2 processing fee: http://ycwd.memberclicks.net/index.php?option=com_mc&view=mc&mcid=72&eventId=346821

Walk-ins are welcome at $35; however, advance reservations are strongly encouraged as space is limited.
Metro: Take the Orange/Blue Line to Farragut West. Walk 3 blocks south on 18th.
Parking: Street parking is available after 6:30 pm. Please be aware that most nearby parking garages close early. Check with the garage attendant.
The theme for this alumni dinner is Business, so if you are in the business world, live here in DC, and are a Stanford alum, please let us know if you would like to participate in this local potluck dinner at the home of Yolanda Townsend, class of 1983.
These casual events have proven to been a lot of fun, with representatives from both the young and more "seasoned" alums coming to eat, drink, and get to know other local Stanford folks of similar interests a little better. Please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in participating.

- Stanford and Stony Brook University researchers have found radiation from the nuclear disaster in Japan in bluefin tuna in waters off San Diego, marking the first record of radioactive materials transported by migrating sea animals.
- Stanford President Emeritus Richard W. Lyman, known for his unequivocal stance against the violent student protests that erupted on campus during the turbulent late 1960s and early 1970s, died Sunday, May 27th at 88.

Our Stanford softball team is in need of players - male and female. It is not too late to join this season. The quality of play is at moments brilliant and at other times hysterically pathetic, but we always have a good time! Interested alumni should send a note to email@example.com.
