Meet Former Stanford Men’s Basketball Star Brook Lopez

Come watch the Washington Wizards take on the New Jersey Nets and meet former Stanford standout Brook Lopez!
After leading the Stanford Cardinal to the Sweet 16 in last year's NCAA Tournament, Brook was the tenth player drafted in the first round by the New Jersey Nets. He is currently one of this season's top rookies. After watching Brook on the court, the Stanford group will meet him following the game.
Tickets have been arranged through the Washington Wizards to sit Stanford alumni in the same sections. Upper level seats are available for $20 for WDCSA members/young alumni and $30 for non-members. A limited number of lower level tickets are available for $45 for WDCSA members/young alumni and $50 for non-members. The upper level seats are normally $48/ticket and the lower level seats are normally $88/ticket.
Reserve your ticket below. Tickets will be distributed just outside of Will Call by a WDCSA representative. Ivy Winter Indoor Tennis

The Harvard and Yale Clubs of Washington DC invite you to join them for a popular Ivy alumni tennis party. It will be an enjoyable way to socialize and network with other Ivy alumni and their guests.
This event is open to players of all ages and levels. Advanced registration is $25 per player and registration at the door will be $30. Non-playing guests must pay $10. The fees will cover court rentals, tennis balls, snacks and sodas. The deadline for cancellations is February 6 at 3pm.

WDCSA Member Profile: Risa ShimodaRisa, a 2003-2005 Co-President of WDCSA, was schooled as a product design engineer and was a brand manager for Proctor & Gamble, M&M/Mars, and Coca-Cola USA before moving to the Washington DC area in April 2001.
Her passion and excellence at outdoor recreation, particularly whitewater paddling, led her to serve as Executive Director of American Whitewater, the national organization that protects rivers, public river access and safe river recreation. In 2004, she left American Whitewater and established The Shimoda Group, a consultancy that creates awareness, message effectiveness, and increases market share for small and medium-sized private sector firms and public sector organizations.
Some of her projects have included helping civil engineers restore river habitats for fish and pathways for kayaks, developing trips on 15 Wild and Scenic Rivers to promote Wild and Scenic Rivers' 40th Anniversary, and placing stories about kayaks suited for fishing in videos and articles in print and online. She regularly organizes whitewater rafting trips for WDCSA members so that they can share in her love of the sport!
Stanford in the News
On January 1, 2009 of the 330 teams playing Division I men's basketball only 7 of them were undefeated. Stanford was one of them.
Local alum Jim Ruddell ’77 was the Construction Manager of the $2.48B Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project.
